Time for Change

Posted on 25 August 2012 by Cathy

Change is inevitable and is the one thing you can always count on!

After a move by own of our team members to Maryland our group decided several weeks ago to go in separate directions. As you know by now, I moved to Houston a few years ago and started my own team at the time. I have been the case manager for both areas and commuting back and forth to Oklahoma to investigate as well as going out with my team in Texas. Right now it just makes better sense for us to have separate teams. It is hard logistically to be all over the country trying to control what one team does in another area. We have different methodologies and beliefs but all got along very well. We are all good friends and will remain so. I am looking forward to a new era of investigations.

So without much ado, I would like to introduce our new name Woodlands Paranormal. I started working on the website about a week ago and had so much on my plate with a conference and a trip to Indiana that I was not able to get much done on the new site. Be patient as I add information. Don’t forget to check from time to time to see what we are up to. We are the same team with a new name

A lot of activity
Posted: Sunday, August 19, 2012 4:00 am by Hannah DeClerk

When Kevin Weddle decided to walk through the Marshall Hotel late Friday night, he was taken aback when the elevator doors on the sixth floor opened in front of him — and nobody was there.

“I was not that surprised,” Weddle said. “There is a lot of activity in this town, which tends to be the case in a lot of historically older towns.”

About 18 vendors were set up at the convention, including the Woodlands Paranormal team who have made numerous guest appearances on the hit paranormal show My Ghost Story on the Biography Channel and The Haunted on the Animal Planet.

The team conducts investigations mainly in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas and Kansas.

“We wanted to come out and represent and show what we do,” Team Member Cathy Nance said. “And we know everyone here pretty well, so it is fun to get together.”

Zombie Apocalypse

Posted on 27 June 2012 by Cathy

There are more victims of the zombie apocalypse which according to some has already begun. A new victim according to Kait8.com died on June 14 Police in Waco, TX. Police arrested Michael Daniel (22 yo) and charged him animal cruelty from eating his family’s dog while the he was still alive. Michael was arrested after family his members called police to their home and said “Daniel assaulted people at home, chased a neighbor and started barking and growling.”

Witnesses also said Daniel grabbed his family’s dog, beat and strangled it, and started to eat it. He was actually tearing at the dog’s flesh with his teeth! Police found Daniel covered in blood on his face and clothes from the attack. The dog died from his wounds at the home.

Daniel is believed to have ingested a synthetic drug called “spice” or “K-2” sometime before the attack. Did you know these drugs are readily available everywhere in smoke shops across the country? These designer drugs creating a quick, intense high, followed by extreme paranoia and acute psychosis. The synthetic stimulants are commonly sold as plant fertilizer and marketed under names such as Ivory Wave. The two types of synthetic drugs are commonly referred to as “fake pot” and “bath salts.”

These drugs are responsible for a wave of zombie like behavior spreading over the world right now. The US Senate passed a synthetic drug ban titled H. R. 1254 which federally criminalizes the possession, distribution, and manufacture of synthetic cannabinoids (“fake marijuana”) and synthetic stimulants (“bath salts”). The measure has also already passed the House, and President Obama is expected to sign it sometime into law. Here is the bill so you can look it up to see where it is at in the process law http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d112:h.r.1254:

Why is it not a law yet????? How many more victims have to die or have their face ripped off before it becomes a law??

Paranormal investigation at Muskogee’s Roxy Theater

by Michael Ricksecker

On Saturday, June 2, the paranormal team Society of the Haunted descended upon the old Roxy Theater in Muskogee to determine whether or not local rumors about the building being haunted were true. Positioned in the center of downtown Muskogee, the Roxy opened in 1948 and still boasts a classic neon sign and fully restored original seating, but many about the town have wondered if spirits from the mid-Twentieth Century lurked there as well. Armed with cameras, audio recorders, and electromagnetic field detectors, Society of the Haunted ventured inside as the first paranormal team to ever investigate the Roxy.

Team members immediately picked up a different vibe when they entered. “It was evident from the second you walked in that you were not alone,” commented investigator Dawn Caban.

Miraculously Saved From Drowning

Posted on 06 April 2012 by Cathy

Charlene Deherrera was miraculously saved in 2006 from downing in her SUV and it was all caught on video! It only took few minutes for her SUV to start sinking into 10 feet of water caused from flash flooding

All of the windows on her vehicle are up and you see the car floating slowly into deeper water where it then goes under.

You see several people on the video trying to break the windows to get her out. The man you see in the photo is Dr. Khosla and he was the first to swim out to help her. He said “I gotta tell you I was putting a lot of force and I was getting nowhere. And I just was frustrated and the woman was actually, I believe at that point toward the back of the car and she had her hands in there and she was screaming at me. And so I could see this poor person and I was frustrated because I couldn’t get anything done.”

Howard Absetz was finally felt her arm after almost a full minute through what he thought was her driver window and was able to pull her up and out of the water. “To actually feel her grasp my arm was a real shock,” Absetz said. “And then the second time she grasped my arm, I knew right then I could get her out.”

When the SUV was pulled from the water all of the doors were shut. All of the windows were intact and closed tight. How did she get out?

Mythbusters did an episode (#72) on getting out of a car underwater. What they were able to find is you cannot break a window even only submerged in 2 feet of water unless you have a window breaking hammer. You cannot roll the window down under water. They tested this using a test weight of 350 lbs (equivalent to pressure differential from just two feet of immersion), the pressure of the window glass against the frame is so great that no amount of effort can move the gear. You are more likely to break the window handle than roll it down. Also power windows still cannot overcome the pressure differential. Let me remind you now that the windows were intact and closed tight

Another explanation is that the man was mistaken that it was the window and she came out through the door. Mythbusters found you can open the door only after the vehicle is fully filled with water because the pressure differential between outside and inside when the car is submerged is too great for a man to force the door open. To get it open the pressure must first be equalized, which means the interior must be fully flooded first. When they conducted the test Adam was forced to resort to emergency air during his first test. A second test Adam escaped only by remaining calm and not attempting to open the door until the interior is well and truly flooded, so as to conserve oxygen while holding your breath.

When you watch the video the time the passes does not look like it is long enough for the SUV to fully fill. She was screaming and acting frustrated according to the doctor who was trying to bust the window open. Therefore she was not calm and conserving oxygen. When they pulled the SUV all of the doors were closed. So how did she escape?

Now watch the video 🙂
