Miraculously Saved From Drowning

Posted on 06 April 2012 by Cathy

Charlene Deherrera was miraculously saved in 2006 from downing in her SUV and it was all caught on video! It only took few minutes for her SUV to start sinking into 10 feet of water caused from flash flooding

All of the windows on her vehicle are up and you see the car floating slowly into deeper water where it then goes under.

You see several people on the video trying to break the windows to get her out. The man you see in the photo is Dr. Khosla and he was the first to swim out to help her. He said “I gotta tell you I was putting a lot of force and I was getting nowhere. And I just was frustrated and the woman was actually, I believe at that point toward the back of the car and she had her hands in there and she was screaming at me. And so I could see this poor person and I was frustrated because I couldn’t get anything done.”

Howard Absetz was finally felt her arm after almost a full minute through what he thought was her driver window and was able to pull her up and out of the water. “To actually feel her grasp my arm was a real shock,” Absetz said. “And then the second time she grasped my arm, I knew right then I could get her out.”

When the SUV was pulled from the water all of the doors were shut. All of the windows were intact and closed tight. How did she get out?

Mythbusters did an episode (#72) on getting out of a car underwater. What they were able to find is you cannot break a window even only submerged in 2 feet of water unless you have a window breaking hammer. You cannot roll the window down under water. They tested this using a test weight of 350 lbs (equivalent to pressure differential from just two feet of immersion), the pressure of the window glass against the frame is so great that no amount of effort can move the gear. You are more likely to break the window handle than roll it down. Also power windows still cannot overcome the pressure differential. Let me remind you now that the windows were intact and closed tight

Another explanation is that the man was mistaken that it was the window and she came out through the door. Mythbusters found you can open the door only after the vehicle is fully filled with water because the pressure differential between outside and inside when the car is submerged is too great for a man to force the door open. To get it open the pressure must first be equalized, which means the interior must be fully flooded first. When they conducted the test Adam was forced to resort to emergency air during his first test. A second test Adam escaped only by remaining calm and not attempting to open the door until the interior is well and truly flooded, so as to conserve oxygen while holding your breath.

When you watch the video the time the passes does not look like it is long enough for the SUV to fully fill. She was screaming and acting frustrated according to the doctor who was trying to bust the window open. Therefore she was not calm and conserving oxygen. When they pulled the SUV all of the doors were closed. So how did she escape?

Now watch the video 🙂

Hero the Puppy

Justin Rollins decided to become a soldier when he was inspired by Sept. 11. His family said he was traumatized enough that he made up his mind to serve our country. He wanted to become an Army Ranger “He came home and he came running up the stairs, “Airborne! Ranger, baby! Infantry!” His friend said he can’t remember him showing fear ever

Justin’s life was cut short after being stationed in Samara, Iraq. He tragically passed away from an IED explosion. Before he died they found puppies living in a bad place in Iraq. His buddies took photos of him playing with the puppies. After he died his family was able to see these pictures. A campaign then began to get one of the puppies he was playing with for his family. The story made headlines and actually went national. It was called ‘Operation Hero’ which turned into an issue even for politicians. The puppy was able to be brought over!

“20/20” went to the home to do a story on the dog and was able to capture something some call a miracle. Others are skeptical thinking it is what is called a lens flare which is the light flashing off the camera. The beautiful thing is that it brought peace to the family. It was a sunbeam shining down on the dog they named Hero in Justin’s backyard. The family took it as a sign that he is with them. One of the family members said “I truly, truly believe I’ll see him again, because he sent us a sign so many times that, that he’s OK things that are too astronomical to not believe,”

This is what the ABC reporter, Kimberly Launier, had to say about the event.

Sometimes when Rhonda hugged Hero she would softly pet her face and coo, “Justin, are you in there?” It was Rhonda’s gentle way of remembering their son and his last living connection to Hero. At one point, Hero wandered off and took a stroll in the backyard. All of a sudden, the clouds broke and a light began to solidify in a beam directly down on Hero — a kind of vertical halo.

Cunningham Run

Cunningham Run

On August 31,1785 a horrible attack happened to my family where some people feel it left an imprint worthy enough to be investigated for paranormal activity. Polly Gear with Mountaineer Paranormal has investigated the property. One night she was able to capture an EVP after talking about the attack. She says “in this EVP, we are sitting on the spot where the cabin had been located, I am talking with my friend’s little boy about the Indians. The little boy was saying, “It would be a wicked fight between the Indians and white people,” and I agreed with him. Listen to the very end. You can clearly hear a raspy voice say, “white people.”

Here is the EVP whitepeople

This is the story of what happened.

Edward Cunningham my 6th great grandfather and his brother Thomas had settled their families onto a farm in what is known today as Cunningham Run in West Virginia. Edward and his brother lived in separate cabins which were almost adjoining with their families. Thomas and Phoebe had four children: Henry, Lydia, Walter and Thomas.

Six Indians came up to the property while Thomas was away on a trading trip to Pittsburgh and one entered his house while they were eating dinner at the table. Edward Cunningham had seen him enter his brother’s house then seized his gun and they all began firing at each other. The Indian in Thomas house was engaged in cutting a hole in the wall to escape out of the line of fire from Edward. After he made a hole big enough to escape he tomahawked Walter the two year old. He then motioned for Phoebe to follow him through the hole. Phoebe was forced to follow him with one infant in her arms and two other children clinging to her. When all were out he scalped the murdered boy and set fire to the house. They were watching Edwards door waiting for them to run out when the flame from the one roof jumped to his roof. Edward was able to extinguish the fire even though the he was being shot at the whole time.

Henry who was age 4 was the oldest son and Lydia who was three were then killed and scalped in the yard. After the hatchet sunk they took Lydia by the arms and legs and slinging her repeatedly against a tree until she stopped breathing. Phoebe and the infant were taken to a cave on Little Indian Run for the night. The infant was killed soon after and Phoebe was taken into captivity.

When the attackers withdrew in the evening Edward went with his family into the woods to hide. The next day they went to the nearest house where they gave the alarm about what happened to them. A company of men went in pursuit of the Indians. They found both houses burned to the ground. They buried the children and went off in pursuit of Phoebe but no traces of them could be discovered so the men returned to their homes.

Phoebe was held in captivity for over three years and was released in 1788 after a man named Simon Girty paid her ransom. Thomas and Phoebe were reunited but did not return to their farm on Cunningham Run where the Indian attack had occurred. They established a home south of Clarksburg and were blessed to have seven more children: Rachel, John, Sara Leah, Phoebe, Barbara, Benjamin, Eva.

One Recipe Book

One Recipe Book

Posted on 02 December 2011 by Cathy

Do you want to know something paranormal (beyond the range of normal) about me?

Confession…

I probably have at the very least 500 recipe books and I bet I am most likely not anywhere close to the real number that I have. I know I have a compulsion to acquire them haha. I have a few that are more personal because they are scribble done by me while talking to family or researching recipes. One of these personal books is old and is filled with wonderful family memories.

This was my first recipe book. I spent hours sitting with family picking their brains writing down recipes. I am so happy that I was able to do this now! Several of the people who helped me fill the book up are no longer alive. I wrote down word for word what they wanted me to do to recreate the recipe. I remember sitting at the table with my Great Grandmother as she would talk to me about food on the farm and other stories. I have decided share those stories with you along with those recipes through my blog.

Haunted Chef doesn’t just mean paranormal cooking. To be haunted is to have compulsive concern with something. It can be memories that come up that are negative like post traumatic stress disorder. It can also be pleasant memories that make you smile. The word haunted is not something that always means something negative. Actual hauntings can sometimes bring peace to people who are grieving the loss of someone.

I feel blessed that I am able to share these recipes with my family and pass the information on down the line. I also feel that sharing these recipes with you is giving you an opportunity to sit at our table as extended family members. Did you know that the farthest apart anyone can be related is 40th cousin! Mathematical and genealogical studies show that the most recent common ancestor of every person alive today was someone in Europe about 600 years ago. I will go more into that in another post

This picture is a great example of being haunted by a pleasant memory. I picked up my recipe book to transcribe a recipe for you and wham there is something jogging a memory. See the snoopy sticker sticking out from behind the pages? I loved snoopy! That is why I bought a set of stickers and put them everywhere. I also had a stuffed snoopy that I slept with every night as a child. Here is a major confession for you…..I only stopped sleeping with it when I got married…. haha!!! It would have been too embarrassing to continue so I stopped. Don’t hold that against me because I know you too had a childhood something like a blanket, pillow or stuffed something 🙂 Did I make you remember something??

Hoping to haunt your table with pleasant memories!

Near Death

Posted on 04 November 2011 by Cathy

In Minnesota an accident in August of 2011 sent two year old Jairden Loukota to the hospital. He was hit in the stomach by a golf club. When the hospital checked him out they found a cantaloupe size tumor growing in his liver that burst from the accident. Apparently he is seeing things now. This could be an indicator that he possibly had a near death experience. His Mother Megan stated “He kept asking me ‘Mom, who is that guy in the corner? There’s a guy in the corner. There’s light.” His mom thinks that it is angel but perhaps there is another explanation.

There is a range of experiences that happen with impending death. Some of these include detaching from the body, levitation, fear, peace and the presence of a light with loved ones inside the light. I had a case once where a mom took care of her adult child who had cancer for a few years before he passed away. He would ask his mom all the time who the man was sitting besides her. She would leave the room to cry because nobody was present but her. If I were in the same situation I would have been fascinated and would have asked many questions but not everyone has been exposed to the paranormal like I have. Not only was he seeing a man but his grandparents would visit him regularly. He had no idea they were no longer alive because he saw them as living. She also reported cold spots and saw shadows herself. After the passing of her son the activity continued on and off and was escalating when she finally decided to call me.

A number of the cases that I get have someone in the home that has had a near death experience. I believe that because of their brush with death it makes them more sensitive. Perhaps a doorway is open they are now a beacon for the other side to come to visit but we really do not know. Once I had a case where a woman had a near death experience and was from that point forward haunted by what seemed to be many different spirits. Those spirits were mostly negative causing her to alter her life in a way that was not healthy.

Since the beginning of time people have had near death experiences. In the earliest documented account Plato describes in The Republic a soldier’s near-death experiences which included the afterlife and even reincarnation. The scientific community has been actively doing research on near death experiences for years. They have found many people share common experiences.

Here is a list of common experiences
An awareness of being dead
A sense of peace
An out-of-body experience including hovering over your body
A tunnel
A sense of moving through a passage
Being in the light or a powerful light
Communication with the light
Beings of light and deceased loved ones
Life review and unconditional love
Knowledge about the universe and everything
A decision to return to the living body
15% or more have a hell type of experience which includes
Barren place
Darkness
Beings or shadows moving around them like blobs
The feeling that they are going to hell
Hopeless and helpless

The cause these experiences are thought by some to be hallucinations from a surge of electrical activity, neurons dying, lucid dreaming or other natural causes. Others believe that the experiences are real and the stories are confirmation of an afterlife. A study of terminally ill patients found identical surges in brain activity moments before death. Is this proof that energy surges out of the body? Is this the body’s one last ditch effort to revive the body? We do know that we are made up of energy which cannot be created or destroyed but can only be changed. Death is a transformation of that energy. The question that many people have is do retain any semblance of who we were when we were alive including memories. I happen to be a believer that our soul continues on and I have had many experiences to back it up.

As a nurse I have observed patients dying who have exclaimed things like “I was wondering when you would show up” or smile at an invisible someone who has come to apparently assist them. Even famous people exclaim interesting things as they are going through the process. A great recent example is that when Steve Jobs passed away he looked at his family then past them and his last words were then “Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow”. Jobs was according to his biographer 50/50 on if he believed in the existence of God and hoped that there was some kind of afterlife. I would like to think he saw something miraculous and that he was delighted with it!

Watch a video about Steve’s experience

The Painting

Posted on 25 September 2011 by Cathy

Earlier in 2011 our team was featured on the season premier of Animal Planet’s “The Haunted” show in the episode called The Monster in the Closet. This house was a place we had investigated numerous times trying to help the family.  Animal Planet was originally going to call this episode the “wrath of the wraith”. The term wraith is defined as a vengeful spirit with red eyes which is fitting for the description of what we knew to be there. The thing that was called red eyes has been gone since we performed the house cleansing that was aired on the haunted episode.

We have investigated their house since the episode aired because there was still some activity going on. The last time we were at the house Tal wanted to give me a gift she had made herself. She offered me one of her paintings and allowed me to choose which one. She would only give it to me if it were going to hang in my house. Everyone that has been in my home knows I am an art lover. I also love to paint myself when I have the time. It is a shame but I haven’t had time to paint in a long while now.

I decided on which painting I wanted and picked the one in her bedroom. This was the main area for activity in the home when red eyes was there. She told me the name of the painting is titled “Ode to the Oklahoma Winds” and wanted me to remember that. She didn’t just hand it to me because she wanted both of us to bless the painting. We said the “Our Father” and anointed the painting with holy water on all the corners. She also wrote a prayer of thanks and love on the back so I would always remember her and that the family loved us. I will never forget them. None of us will forget them!

The back of the painting says : “You have blessed this house, you have blessed me! I love you always & God is always with us both! “Deliver all of us from evil!” The painting now hangs on my wall in my home where I get to look at it and think about their family every day

My New Earbuds

My New Earbuds

Posted on 13 September 2011 by Cathy

How do I begin this story? I needed a new phone after mine fell into a toilet 2 months ago.  I wasn’t ready for an upgrade and to replace the phone through insurance would have cost the same as buying a new one. I had no choice but to wait to upgrade. So last week I went to T-Mobile to get a new one and I also upgraded my plan to unlimited minutes. Yay for me! I got an HTC Sensation and so far I just love it! It feels like I am carrying around a mini computer rather than a phone. Somehow after unpacking the phone the earbuds got misplaced. I do not want to talk on the cell all day without earbuds because of the possibility of getting a brain tumor. So not wanting to spend more money than I already did last week I started going everywhere looking for my new lost earbuds. I tore my house up looking for them. After a week of searching and looking back again in places I already had searched, I finally saw them.

At the time I was on the phone with a good friend from Arkansas who has a negative entity attached to him. Several groups other than ours have investigated him as well and claim it is perhaps a demon. The thing has never introduced itself to me personally for me to agree with them. There are none of the hallmark features of the thing being a demon either. I am not going to commit to the thing being anything at the moment other than negative. In the absence of evidence how can there be a commitment one way or the other?  Even though I can’t commit I have a nickname for my friend….. demon guy. Why? Well for one it is easier to explain it as 2 words than for me to go through the whole story when asked “who are you on the phone with”.  I have a long story about that I will have to share with you one day but for now I want to get back to the earbuds.

Like I said I, was on the phone with my friend and saw something resembling what might be my earbuds across the room. I walked over for a closer look and yep it was what I had been searching for all week, my earbuds. They were in the strangest place. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! How could it be? There is no way my earbuds could be where they were.

Guess where I found them?

Inside of a candle!

Yes, I said inside a candle

Inside the wax!

How is that possible? I stopped mid sentence and told demon guy all about my earbuds. I took pictures to prove what I was seeing was real. As an investigator I want photographic proof if I can get it. I send my friend a picture and I stayed on the phone while trying to dig out the wires. The wax was soft enough that I did not have to melt the wax. We were chatting about how they could end up inside a candle. I was able to finally dig them out. I took pictures of the earbuds now that they were out of the wax as well the mangled candle. I put the candle back on the ledge where I had found it and began the process of cleaning up my earbuds. I was getting wax everywhere so I had to get off the phone. I even had to clean myself up from working with the soft lavender scented wax.

First let me say that the candle is on a window ledge above my bathtub. It is a southeast facing window that is in the shade most of the day. I have a whole collection of candles there and none of them have melted. Later in the day I noticed that the wax had leveled itself out even though it is in the air conditioning and shade. I remembered when I was digging out my earbuds that the wick was not where it should have been. I started research on the candle to see if I could find any issues with wicks disappearing. I noticed that the candle maker had changed from soft wicks to wood. I thought perhaps the wax was soft enough that just something laying there would slowly sink. I also wanted to watch the candle more closely the next day to see what changes if any occur throughout the day.

My husband comes home and I tell him the story. We are both going to watch the candle

The next day I monitored the candle to see if any melting took place. Even though the candle is in shade most of the day there is a very small time frame when it does melt and then it’s quick to solidify. Aha! One of the puzzle pieces solved. So how did my earbuds get on to the top of the candle? I understand how they went into the candle but not onto the candle. They smell like lavender. I left them inside my husbands car when we went out to eat that night. They made the whole car smell like lavender by the time we got back outside.

Hey phone companies are you paying attention??? Make scented earbuds!!!

History Burning Down

History Burning Down

Posted on 18 August 2011 by Cathy

A huge fire destroyed one of the businesses in downtown Shawnee overnight. The business was Loco’s at 107 E Main St. which was a small antique shop and had only been open for about 9 months. The call about the fire came in to the department about 1 a.m. According to the fire chef the crew could not make an interior attack due to the heat. The fire was so intense that it collapsed the roof. It took almost 8 hours for the fire to completely be put out. Two other buildings sustained heavy smoke and water damage.

When I heard about the fire I ran to look up the address. I have been in many of the businesses along Main Street and have done investigations of several places. Loco’s it turned out was not one of my past investigations. I was still upset to see it destroyed. In previous investigations in this town we have found active hauntings and what we call residual energy. This residual energy is like a recording on a cd that happens for unknown reasons. When the conditions are perfect the recording can replay making anyone that happens upon it to think the place is haunted. I wonder if Loco’s had any activity? When they rebuild they may notice things happen in weird places like someone walk up a staircase that is no longer there.

It is sad when history is lost! It seems that lately several historic locations have caught fire. Just a few weeks ago Fort Chaffee Hospital Complex burned to the ground. The Fort Smith Fire Department has deemed that it was an accident. Members of the Kentucky National Guard who are fans of the show Ghost Adventures were doing training at Chaffee and decided to go see it for themselves. It is believed that one of them discarded a lit cigarette into a grassy area near one of the buildings at the Fort. The fire burned approximately 90 acres and more than 120 buildings. Back in February The Sisters of Charity of Providence school in DeSmet, Idaho burned down. The building was more than 100 years old and was a historical landmark. Reviewing the history showed two earlier buildings on the property were destroyed by fire in 1881 and in the early 1900s.

Today there is an old building 15 miles east of Springfield in Buffalo. The house was built around 1840 and it is now on the schedule to be burned down! If you care about history perhaps you will be upset enough to contact the people who will be responsible for letting it go! The house was a “12-mile house” for stagecoach drivers and their horses who would be traveling between Springfield and Decatur.
Drivers could stay the night and rest their horses before finishing the trip the next morning. Some historians believe that Abraham Lincoln may have even stayed there.

Apparently the owners donated house to the Buffalo Fire Protection District because they want it gone. It is scheduled to be used for live fire training in September when the weather will be cooler. The chef said they would like to burn it for training because it is in a sate of disrepair and an eyesore. They must get permission before they burn it though. I am hoping that they will not be granted their wish. The Historic Preservation agency can deem the house to be historic because it is more than 50 years old and has some type of historical significance. I am concerned that yet again we are going to loose another piece of history if the house is destroyed. Are you? I would love to be able to get inside the house and just sit. I think it should be made into a museum or saved in any condition. If you are as upset as I am please make contact those responsible:

Black Hope Curse

Posted on 03 August 2011 by Cathy

Here is the story behind the Newport edition you have been waiting for. In the year that the movie Poltergeist came out on the big screen there was another similar drama playing out in a town in Texas. In the early 1980 a new housing edition went in called Newport. Sam and Judith Haney purchased a home in the Newport area of Houston. The family decided to have a swimming pool put in the back yard. As they began to get started an elderly black man showed up out of nowhere and told them that they was about to dig up human remains. The reason he gave them this information was that he knew they were buried because he had seen them years before. They decided the old man was crazy and started digging for the pool anyway. As they were digging the two bodies were just where the old man said they were. Scared they began doing research and found a man named Jasper Norton who as a young man had worked as a gravedigger. Norton told the Haney’s that their home and the surrounding houses were built on top of an old cemetery called Black Hope. He also told them that most of the deceased were former slaves.

They found out that last burial had occurred 1939 and that there as many as 60 people were in graves. Norton identified the two people buried in the Haney’s backyard as Betty and Charlie Thomas who former slaves. They had died sometime during the thirties. As they lived in their house the activity became more negative. They heard disembodied voices, an unplugged clock in the began shooting sparks and glowing, sliding glass door open but there was nobody there and the door was locked. The next morning after to door incident Judith couldn’t find her red shoes. When she finally located them they were outside miraculously sitting side by side on top of Betty’s grave. They also realized that the date was Betty’s birthday.

Unable to keep all of the information to themselves they had a neighborhood meeting. They found out neighbors whose houses were built on top of the abandoned cemetery also had all kinds of activity. They reported lights, televisions/water faucets turning on and off, unearthly sounds and apparitions. Sam and Judith decided right then to fight back. They sued the developer for not disclosing that their home was built over a cemetery. They won and were awarded $142,000 by a jury. The judge ruled on legal grounds that the developers were not liable and reversed the decision. He then ordered the Haney’s to pay $50,000 in court costs. Unable to pay and plagued with health problems they were frightened of remaining in their house. They made the decision to file bankruptcy and abandoned their home.

One of the other families lived right across the street with similar problems to the Haney’s. Ben and Jean Williams lived there with their young granddaughter named Carli. They reported activity that the house was cold year round, the feeling of being watched, toilets flushed by themselves as well as the garage door and other household appliances would operate on their own. They even had rectangular sinkholes open up in the yard and for whatever reason they couldn’t be filled in. As soon as she thought she would have the problem solved the sinkholes would reappear within a few days. Another oddity was Jean couldn’t get any new plants to live on the property even though she always had a green thumb. On their property they noticed strange markings on an old oak tree by the sinkholes. It was an arrow pointed downward with two horizontal slash marks beneath it. They attended the meeting and discovered their lovely home was built over the cemetery. As they began to research a long time resident of the area told them he had marked the tree as a way to identify where his two sisters were buried. The activity began to increase and they would hear phantom footsteps in the hall, an apparition hovering over them when they slept and six members of their extended family were diagnosed with different cancers where three of them died within that year.

The Haney’s were not the only family to try legal recourse. They were all told that without definitive proof of a cemetery on their property nothing could be done. Ben and Jean Williams decided to prove their home was built over a cemetery. So Jean began to dig in one of the sinkholes beneath the oak. When she became overwhelmed from exhaustion to her daughter Tina took over. After digging for about a half-hour Tina collapsed and was dead 2 days later. Jean was convinced their desecration of a grave had precipitated their daughter’s death. They decided to leave no matter what it cost them. The loss they already experienced was more than they could bear. They abandoned their house and escaped to Montana. After a period of time passed they later moved back to Texas.

Subsequent owners of their homes say they have noticed no unusual activity. They seem content to live in the houses even with the negative history. Would you buy a home here? If you google the story you will find some people report activity and some say they never experienced anything. The fire department will tell you there are more alarms that go off in the part of the neighborhood that covers the cemetery. Do you think some people are more sensitive than others and this is why the new owners do not have activity? Do you think that the Williams or the Haney’s would make up such activity to give them a reason to loose all the money they had invested in their homes? These are some the same types of questions my group puts to the test every day as we deal with homeowners. Is it real or imagined? Can we find evidence to back up the claims? I spent time in Newport on several occasions. I can tell you that the area has a strange vibe to it for me. The woods have shadows that dart about even when nobody is there. I believe the place to be haunted. I will be uploading photos and other evidence I collected while there in the future.

Haunted Swimming

Posted on 03 August 2011 by Cathy

I have had so many responses to posting an article on swimming in the Newport edition. Although you do not hear many stories of haunted swimming pools they do exists. I have previously posted an article about swimming in Lake Ronkonkoma on Long Island. This is a fantastic spot for investigating. Now let me share with you some other locations.

The Mineral Springs Hotel in Alton, Illinois has many stories. The old staff had heard unexplained sounds which include music playing, glassed tinkling, voices and laughter around the pool which is located in the basement. The basement area is the most haunted area of the location. There is the live ghost cam you can watch online that shows the first class swimming pool on the Queen Mary. In this very haunted location there is a little girl who can sometimes be seen holding a teddy bear. Women have often been seen wearing 1930’s swimming suits and there are reported sounds of splashing as well as wet footprints leading from the around the pool to the changing rooms.

There is a swimming pool in Scotland that renfew council owns that is known by many to have a lady in white as well as the apparition of a little boy who they believe died in the pool 80 years ago. There is a video going around that has been captured of him on video as well. They claim what you see in the video is figure of a boy floating in and out of the wall at the stairs. I believe this to be an artifact of the light that you see in the video. This does not mean the pool isn’t haunted. I just don’t believe it to be proof

In New York City there is a swimming pool in McCareen Park. The pool was built in 1936 and was able to hold up to 6,800 swimmers. It is believed this is where a little girl drowned because she is seen roaming the area at calling for help. Some people have only heard her crying for help. There are no records for a little girl drowning but there are others who have died at this location. Paranormal teams have captured temperature drops, electro magnetic fields, anomalies on videos/photos as well as EVPs.
